Dr Juergen Knackmuss has been named spokesperson of Merck KGaA, while maintaining his role as director of public affairs. Dr Knackmuss succeeds Dr Martmut Vennen, who now coordinates the company’s global communications network of business units and country organizations.

From 1975 to 1998, Dr Knackmuss was employed by Boehringer Mannheim AG, where he held various management positions in German and international marketing. Then, after a year of free-lancing, he returned to the pharmaceutical industry with BASF Pharma AG before moving to Merck in 2001.
