Explore A Novel E3technology For Proteome Analysis
This event is now available on demand.
Event Overview:
Proteomics experiments have typically high economic and technical barriers to broad biomedical scientists, which not only lead to costly supplies and accessories for sample preparation but also the reluctance to adapt new techniques. Here, we present an efficient, effective, and economical approach (named E3technology), for proteomics sample preparation. We have developed a novel Empore
TM
membrane, which could be used as a robust and reliable filter medium to generate LCMS-friendly samples in a rapid and low-cost fashion. E3technology is flexible and has varies formats, which can conveniently process a variety of sample types in varied complexity, quantity, volume, and size. We benchmarked their performance against several established approaches using bacterial, fungi, mammalian cells, mouse tissue, and human body fluids. Our data suggest that E3technology outperforms many of the currently available techniques in terms of proteome identification and quantitation. It is widely applicable, and is stress-free to non-expert proteomics laboratories. We also demonstrated that an enhanced E3technology, E4technology, could be used as a single-vessel platform to process low-input/low-cell samples with minimal loss and excellent efficiency. Our technologies represent a breakthrough innovation in biomedical science, and we anticipate widespread adoption by the proteomics community.
Key Learning Objectives:
Learn how a loss-less and stress-free sample preparation technology could benefit precision medicine.
Learn how to identify meaningful biomarkers from low-input/low-cell samples or precious
clinical specimens
.
Learn how an in-cell digestion and single-vessel approach could revolutionize proteomics research.
Who Should Attend:
Scientists incorporating sample preparation procedures into their workflows in proteomics
Scientists working in medical schools, biotech startups, and biopharmaceutical companies using proteomic technology
Scientists in Precision Medicine and Omics
Featured Speakers:
Yanbao Yu
Director of Proteomics
University of Delaware
Dr. Yanbao Yu
is currently the Director of Proteomics in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at the University of Delaware (UD). He obtained his PhD in Chemical Biology from Fudan University in 2009 where he worked on blood platelet proteomics and innate immunity. He conducted post-doctoral research in UNC Chapel Hill, and later in the J. Craig Venter Institute (JCVI), where he focused on infectious disease, metaproteomics, and mass spectrometry-based method development. He was an Assistant Professor in JCVI prior to join UD in May 2021. Dr. Yu has keen interests in proteomics technology development and applications. He has published 70 peer reviewed articles and invited book chapters, and has one pending patent.
