Fast, accurate, and cost-effective AAV characterization with LC-MALS
This event is now available on demand.
Event Overview:
Adeno-associated viruses (AAVs) have recently gained significant attention in the field of gene and cell therapy because of their effectiveness at delivering genes to target cells
in vivo
and
in vitro
. Due to the increasing demand for AAV therapeutic drug production, there have been many efforts to engineer and improve new AAV variants. To guarantee the potency of AAV therapies, their purity must be assessed. Scientists continue seeking rapid, accurate, and cost-effective methods to characterize how much DNA payload is within the AAV capsids. In this webinar, an overview of the analytical chromatography techniques for the characterization of AAVs will be discussed.
Key Learning Objectives:
Learn how to optimize your analytical chromatography method for the separation of AAV components with the highest resolution.
Explore size exclusion and ion exchange chromatography for AAV analysis.
Discover how adding MALS detection enhances the characterization of AAVs.
Who Should Attend:
Scientists and lab managers seeking rapid, accurate, and cost-effective LC-MALS methods to characterize AAVs.
Featured Speakers:
Farihah Haque, Ph.D.
Regional Product Specialist
Tosoh Bioscience
Farihah Haque
completed her Ph.D. in polymer chemistry at Tulane University where she studied cyclic polymers. Thereafter, she pursued a post-doctoral fellowship at the University of Minnesota studying sustainable elastomers in the NSF Center for Sustainable Polymers. She joined Tosoh Bioscience in 2021, as an Applications Scientist developing analytical methods for polymer characterization. Now, as a Regional Product Specialist, she helps customers analyze biological macromolecules for gene therapy, implementing advanced chromatography techniques to effectively characterize these materials.

Sam Kurth
Applications Scientist
Tosoh Bioscience
Sam Kurth
completed his master’s degree in biotechnology at Johns Hopkins University while working on a high throughput miRNA qPCR project within the Uniformed Services University. He later went on to work in downstream biopharmaceuticals at Teva Pharmaceuticals before joining Tosoh Bioscience in 2022. As an Applications Scientist, Sam is developing analytical and process chromatography techniques for the separation of empty and full AAVs.
