(Mountain View, California) announced that it will be distributing a gel-permeation chromatography (GPC) instrument from LCTech GmbH (Dorfen, Germany) when it is released in the second quarter of 2009. The GPC Quattro system reportedly runs four columns in parallel for greater sample clean-up throughput. The instrument can be used to run four columns with the same method or with four different methods. According to the company, the instrument is designed for the clean-up of complex animal tissues, food products, and environmental samples by separating the analytes from their high molecular weight matrixes such as lipids, carbohydrates, and pigments.
