Analysis of Volatile Organic Compounds Including Epichlorohydrin by GC/MS According to Directive (EU) 2020/2184
European Union Directive 2020/2184 pertains to the assessment of water quality intended for human consumption and requires low level, accurate quantitative analysis of Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) to ensure that it is safe for drinking and cooking purposes.
We present a comprehensive methodology for the sensitive detection and quantification of VOCs including epichlorohydrin in water samples utilizing gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC/MS). The method verification includes assessments of linearity, accuracy, precision, and detection limits, all of which meet or exceed the regulatory requirements. Theworkflow demonstrates good suitability for reliable, compliant, routine monitoring to mitigate the adverse effects of VOCs and epichlorohydrin in water used for human consumption.
