Dionex (Sunnyvale, California) has agreed to purchase Caliper Life Sciences’ (Hopkinton, Massachusetts) AutoTrace solid-phase extraction (SPE) products, including the AutoTrace SPE workstation, which is designed to automate the extraction of large-volume aqueous samples before analysis. The system can be used for applications such as the EPA Methods 500 and 600 series for environmental testing of drinking water. Dionex intends to use the addition of the product line to focus on sample preparation in the water industry and to provide ion chromatography and high performance liquid chromatography methods for environmental analysis.
HPLC 2025 Preview: Functionalized Monoliths as Selective Sample Preparation Materials
May 16th 2025Analyzing trace compounds from complex samples often requires purification and pre-concentration, and online coupling of solid-phase extraction (SPE) with liquid chromatography (LC) helps minimize analysis time and solvent/sample use. Monoliths with large macropores are ideal for this coupling due to their low back pressure and versatility in various formats.
Thermodynamic Insights into Organic Solvent Extraction for Chemical Analysis of Medical Devices
April 16th 2025A new study, published by a researcher from Chemical Characterization Solutions in Minnesota, explored a new approach for sample preparation for the chemical characterization of medical devices.
