Researchers from Bucknell University (Lewisburg, Pennsylvania) used electrophoretically mediated microanalysis in a capillary tube to perform a Jaffe reaction between creatinine and picrate. They exercised careful control of the reagent plug length, concentration, and background electrolyte pH to improve analysis sensitivity. They used optimized conditions to successfully analyze three human serum samples across the expected clinical range of creatinine concentrations.
