Ryo Takechi received his master’s degree in chemical engineering from Doshisha University in Kyoto, Japan. With more than 15 years of experience in gas chromatography at Shimadzu Corporation, he has contributed to the development and commercialization of advanced GC and GC-MS technologies, including the Barrier Ionization Discharge detector and the Nexis GC-2030. He previously served as a GC innovation scientist and business development manager at Shimadzu Scientific Instruments in Columbia, Maryland. Since returning to Japan in 2020, he has been responsible for global product management of Shimadzu GC systems, leading product development and business expansion initiatives in collaboration with partners and customers worldwide.
Kenichi Obayashi
Global GC-MS Product Manager

Kenichi Obayashi majored in molecular biology and earned his master's degree from Kyushu University in Fukuoka, Japan. Over his 16-year career, he spent 13 years building deep expertise in GC-MS across software and application development, and 3 years in corporate strategy and a secondment to a Japanese government ministry. He now serves as a product manager for GC-MS, bringing a broad, cross-functional perspective to the role.

Sixu Li is an assistant manager at Shimadzu Europa GmbH, collaborating with industry partners to advance GC and GC-MS solutions. Since joining Shimadzu in 2015, he has worked across analytical chemistry, hardware development, and product marketing. His contributions include the Nexis GC-2030, Nexis GC-2060, and Shimadzu’s first sulfur chemiluminescence detector, while leading development of the Brevis GC-2050 and Shimadzu’s first MMI inlet.
Kazuhiro Kawamura, PhD
Assistant Manager

Kazuhiro Kawamura, PhD, joined Shimadzu in 2015 and has over 10 years of experience in GC-MS, leading application development for multiple product launches and supporting global collaborations. He received his PhD in biotechnology from Osaka University in Osaka, Japan. His research focuses on the development of innovative GC-MS technologies for food, environmental applications, and metabolomics.
