Paweł Wiczling earned his Ph.D. in 2005 from the Medical University of Gdańsk, Poland and was appointed Professor in 2020. He completed research residencies at Vrije Universiteit Brussel, Brussels in 2004 and the University at Buffalo, New York, USA in 2005. He is currently based at the Department of Biopharmaceutics and Pharmacodynamics at the Medical University of Gdańsk, Poland.
His research focuses on statistical modeling in pharmacometrics and chemometrics. He specializes in population pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic (PK/PD) modeling, Bayesian hierarchical methods, clinical trial simulation, and the analysis of drug behavior in special populations, including pediatric, surgical, and intensive care patients.
In chromatography, his work focuses on theoretical modeling of chromatographic retention and the determination of physicochemical properties such as pKa and lipophilicity. He also develops Bayesian hierarchical methods and applies modern statistical approaches to improve analytical techniques in chromatography.
