Until recently, a promising solution to couple capillary electrophoresis to electrospray ionization mass spectrometry has only been available to a small group of experts.
Until recently, a promising solution to couple capillary electrophoresis to electrospray ionization mass spectrometry has only been available to a small group of experts. Now, a novel front-end separation and ionization technology, developed by Beckman Coulter, is opening up the technique to a wider audience. This has the potential to offer highly sensitive analysis, providing scientists with important, previously unavailable information — for example, the detection of low-abundance metabolites in body fluids and enabling more extended coverage of the metabolome.
