Tecan and GE Healthcare have announced that the two suppliers will be working together to bring increased quality and efficiency to process development. The collaboration will focus on high throughput screening of protein purification conditions, using the combination of Tecan’s Freedom EVO automated workstation and GE Healthcare’s PreDictor 96-well plates pre-filled with BioProcess chromatography media.
Eric Willimann, Market Manager Protein Science, Tecan said, “The combination of the companies’ hardware will provide our customers with a rapid and efficient method of screening process parameters, with minimal hands-on time."
According to the companies, the use of the automation platform ensures reproducible results from the 96-well process development technology and provides efficient miniaturized, parallel screening performed in a multivariate fashion with minimal cross-contamination.
The combination of the technologies is reported to substantially shorten the time spent on process development while allowing the investigation of a much larger experimental space, resulting in greater understanding of the process. The solution for the screening of process conditions is claimed to provide process developers with quality, efficiency and reliability in downstream process development.
