The separation of mixtures of polar and hydrophilic compounds can be a significant challenge. Hydrophilic interaction liquid chromatography (HILIC) has proven to be a solid alternative for such applications. Its use has therefore increased rapidly during the last years and HILIC has become a cornerstone in many laboratories.
