Shimadzu Corporation (Columbia, Maryland) has named Shuzo Maruyama president of Shimadzu Scientific Instruments (SSI).
Shimadzu Corporation (Columbia, Maryland) has named Shuzo Maruyama president of Shimadzu Scientific Instruments (SSI). Maruyama will oversee sales and management functions for SSI, the American subsidiary of Shimadzu Corporation (Kyoto, Japan). He replaces Takeshi Kawami, who served as president at SSI since April 2007.
Maruyama has been with Shimadzu for 29 years, starting out in research and development for ultrasonic diagnostic equipment, and then for liquid chromatography. Most recently, Maruyama served as the general manager of the LC business unit.
Maruyama graduated from Osaka University, Suita, Osaka, Japan with a degree in biophysical engineering.
