Novasep (Pompey, France) has announced the opening of a new facility in Shanghai, China. This new site will complement Novasep’s existing 12 global synthesis and process sites in France, the US, Germany, Belgium and the Bahamas.
Almost half of the new 2000 m2 building will be dedicated to innovation and process development through new laboratory, piloting and FAT testing areas.
The company has faced continued growth in demand in East Asia for its design and supply of purification technologies and integrated processes in batch and continuous membrane filtration, ion exchange and chromatography. The increased innovation capabilities at the new site means that Novasep should be able to meet the demand and expand output.
Antoine Baule, president of Novasep Process, commented, “Novasep has ensured that its supply capabilities can satisfy ever increasing demands in China and East Asia.”
Jean de Lataillade, general manager of Novasep Asia, added, “With food and feed industry ingredient volumes rising above 100,000 tons per year in some Chinese productions, this requires more cost effective and environmentally friendly processes, and strong engineering capabilities. The Shanghai site will further enable Novasep to compete globally in both low volume pharma markets, as well as large volume industrial biotech markets.”

Examining Alkaloid Profiles in Milk with LC-MS
February 10th 2025Research conducted by The Technology Transfer Center of the Edmund Mach Foundation (San Michele all'Adige, Italy) and the University of Udine (Udine, Italy) used liquid chromatography coupled with high-resolution mass spectrometry (LC-MS) to investigate alkaloid transfer from alpine pastures to milk.
The Next Frontier for Mass Spectrometry: Maximizing Ion Utilization
January 20th 2025In this podcast, Daniel DeBord, CTO of MOBILion Systems, describes a new high resolution mass spectrometry approach that promises to increase speed and sensitivity in omics applications. MOBILion recently introduced the PAMAF mode of operation, which stands for parallel accumulation with mobility aligned fragmentation. It substantially increases the fraction of ions used for mass spectrometry analysis by replacing the functionality of the quadrupole with high resolution ion mobility. Listen to learn more about this exciting new development.
