Phenomenex (California, USA) has announced the formation of a collaboration agreement with ChromaDex (California, USA).

Phenomenex (California, USA) has announced the formation of a collaboration agreement with ChromaDex (California, USA). The agreement will combine the commercial interests of Phenomenex in high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) with Chromadex’s commercial expertise in natural reference standards for the analysis of food supplements.

Phenomenex will focus on developing a range of reference standards, valid methods and application support for food supplement analysis. The initial results of this collaboration were presented as scientific posters at the AOAC (Association of Analytical Communities) annual meeting in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.

In recent years, the FDA has implemented tougher regulations on the food supplement industry, creating a requirement for faster and more advanced quality control methods. “The ability to provide a complete package of reference standards and scientifically valid methods strengthens our leadership position and provides a ‘one stop shop’ for our customers,” said Frank Jaksch, CEO and founder of ChromaDex. “The collaboration will deliver tools to help customers meet FDA guidance on cGMP (current good manufacturing practices) for dietary supplements.”
