The Pittsburgh Conference (Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania) announced the opening of registration for Pittcon 2009 short courses March 7-13. The courses are offered in more than 60 topic areas and consist of half-day to two-day sessions. They are designed for beginning through advanced students to further technical knowledge and provide practical training in specific disciplines. Course topics will include analytical method transfer for pharmaceutical products, microwave-enhanced sample preparation, the use of GC–MS for analyzing a variety of compounds in one solution in a single injection, qualification and validation of laboratory equipment and systems, and drug metabolism for analytical chemists.
