Velaris Rebrands Global Lab Automation Group

The laboratory automation company backed by Battery Ventures has officially rebranded as Velaris, bringing together a growing group of well-known scientific instrumentation and automation companies under one unified name. This new identity reflects the company’s goal of building a connected global platform while preserving the strengths of each individual brand.

Over the past three years, Velaris has expanded through the acquisitions of industry leaders including Skalar Analytical, PromoChrom Technologies, LCTech, EST Analytical, GERSTEL, and Trace Elemental Instruments. Together, these businesses support laboratories around the world in areas such as environmental testing, food and beverage analysis, agriculture, and petrochemical applications.

Velaris focuses on technologies that automate laboratory workflows, including sample preparation, chromatography, elemental analysis, and robotics. The company says its integrated approach is designed to help laboratories work faster, improve accuracy, and manage increasingly complex testing demands, including PFAS and food safety analysis.

According to CEO Amod Kher, the name “Velaris” is inspired by the Latin root “Velox,” meaning speed, highlighting the company’s emphasis on rapid innovation and customer support. He noted that while the brands will continue operating under their established names, the Velaris identity will allow the organization to share resources, expand globally, and accelerate development of new products and services planned throughout 2026.
