Fedra Vasileiou

Fedra Vasileiou is a MSc student in the Quality Control–Chemical Analysis–Environment program, with a specialization in bioanalysis/pharmaceutical analysis at the School of Chemistry, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece. She received her BSc in Chemistry from the University of Ioannina, Greece, in 2023. Prior to her postgraduate studies, she worked as an analytical chemist in an ISO/IEC 17025:2017 accredited laboratory, performing chemical and instrumental analyses of food, water, soil, waste, and animal feed samples and applying quality control procedures using chromatographic and spectroscopic techniques.Her current research at the Laboratory of Analytical Chemistry (SepLab) focuses on the development of sustainable sample preparation methodologies and chromatographic methods for the analysis of pharmaceutical compounds in biological matrices.

A multinational research team developed a green, miniaturized CPME-HPLC-DAD method to simultaneously extract and detect four tetracyclines in human urine, offering a simpler, cheaper alternative to LC-MS/MS with improved sensitivity.
