Biotage Open New Manufacturing Plant in South Wales

Biotage (Uppsala, Sweden) has opened a new manufacturing unit in Ystrad Mynach, South Wales, with the support of the Welsh Government. As part of the expansion at the South Wales site, an instrument-manufacturing unit has been moved from Boston, USA. Thanks to a grant from the Welsh Government, the company secured the use of a 825 square metre facility near to their existing premises and converted the area into a manufacturing line and offices.

Thanks to a grant from the Welsh Government, the company secured the use of a 825 square metre facility near to their existing premises and converted the area into a manufacturing line and offices.

Economy Minister Edwina Hart said: “I am delighted the Welsh Government has been able to support this very important inward investment project which helps consolidate Biotage’s presence in Wales. Life sciences are one of our key economic sectors with potential for high growth which makes this new investment particularly welcome and I wish them every success for the future.”
