The Wallace H. Coulter lecture will be given by Fraser Stoddart of Northwestern University. Stoddart was the 2016 Nobel Laureate in Chemistry. His talk is titled “Serendipity Stokes Discovery: Disrupting Established Industries.” During the past decade, members of Stoddart’s research group made two major discoveries in the area of carbohydrate materials, each having the potential to become a “disruptive technology” for environmentally friendly products and sustainable processes.
