YMC Acquires Pharmaceutical Systems Business of Lewa-Nikkiso America

YMC Co., Ltd. (Kyoto, Japan), a supplier of separations resins, services, and systems for the pharmaceutical market, has acquired the pharmaceutical systems business of Lewa -Nikkiso America Inc. (Devens, Massachusetts).

YMC Co., Ltd. (Kyoto, Japan), a supplier of separations resins, services, and systems for the pharmaceutical market, has acquired the pharmaceutical systems business of Lewa -Nikkiso America Inc. (Devens, Massachusetts). The business, which was part of the Lewa division of Nikkiso Corporation, provides production-scale chromatography systems for the bioprocessing and the pharmaceutical industry.

The acquisition expands YMC’s existing offering of chromatography columns, systems, services, and consumables and strengthens its reach in North America to increase its global systems’ business. Through the transaction, YMC is retaining the staff and has assumed all assets dedicated to the development, manufacture, and sales of batch and continuous high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), low-pressure LC  simulated moving bed, and buffer and caustic dilution systems for the biopharmaceutical market. This includes the manufacturing site located in Devens, Massachusetts.

YMC America (Allentown, Pennsylvania) remains a stand-alone product distribution–based business apart from but working with the YMC Process Technologies systems’ business in Devens, Massachusetts.
