Columbus Hosts Inaugural Analytica USA
Key Takeaways
- Analytica is debuting in the U.S. in Columbus, Ohio, featuring over 250 exhibitors from nearly 20 countries.
- The event will cover diverse topics, including phenomics, microbiome research, and advances in liquid chromatography.
For the first time in the United States, Analytica brings leading exhibitors, research insights, and interactive lab technology showcases to Columbus, connecting professionals across the entire laboratory value chain.
Analytica is making its U.S. debut. In just under a month, the mega tradeshow that draws experts from around the world will land stateside for the first time. Its stage? Columbus, Ohio, this September.
Known globally as a leading platform for laboratory technology, analysis, and biotechnology, Analytica has long been a cornerstone event in Munich, attracting thousands of visitors and exhibitors from across the scientific community. The U.S. edition promises to bring that same energy and expertise to North America.
Columbus, one of the fastest-growing cities in the Midwest, offers an ideal backdrop for the event. The city boasts a vibrant dining scene, a rich arts and culture landscape, and a welcoming, diverse population (1). The Greater Columbus Convention Center, which will host the conference, features 373,000 square feet of exhibit space, 75 meeting rooms, and the largest ballroom in Ohio (1). Its expansive facilities are well-suited to accommodate the scale and scope of an event like Analytica, allowing for simultaneous exhibitions, presentations, and demonstrations.
“The combination of trade fair, scientific conference and practice-oriented supporting program has established itself in Munich and has contributed to the success of our spin-off shows in China, India, Vietnam, and South Africa,” said Susanne Grödl, global industry lead and exhibition director of Analytica shows worldwide at Messe München, which organizes Analytica (2). “Analytica USA will also build a bridge from research to application in order to cover the entire value chain of the laboratory world.” She added that the combination of trade fair, conference, and special shows ensures visitors are fully up to date on the latest developments and innovations.
The inaugural U.S. event has already generated significant interest. More than 250 exhibitors from nearly 20 countries have confirmed their participation, filling the exhibition space well in advance (2). Industry leaders, including Thermo Fisher Scientific, PerkinElmer, Shimadzu, and others will showcase their latest products and technologies, underscoring the event’s role as a premier platform for innovation and networking (3).
The conference program spans a wide range of topics relevant to modern laboratory research and application. Sessions will explore phenomics, microbiome research, air pollution, and advances in liquid chromatography, among other pertinent topics. Renowned experts such as John McLean from Vanderbilt University, Nikos Kyrpides from Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, and Ralf Zimmermann from the University of Rostock will present their latest findings and demonstrate how research can translate into practical solutions in health, environmental science, and biotechnology (2).
In addition to the scientific sessions, the “Digital Transformation” special show will highlight the future of laboratory technology. Live demonstrations of smart titration systems, automated cooling solutions, and other digital tools will provide attendees with hands-on experience in integrating technology to increase efficiency, accuracy, and sustainability in laboratory operations. This focus on practical application aligns with Analytica’s mission to bridge research and industry.
With its mix of expert-led sessions, demonstrations, and international exhibitors, Analytica USA aims to provide a comprehensive platform for the laboratory industry in North America. As Grödl emphasized, the globally successful Analytica concept is expected to “be met with great enthusiasm,” offering a unique opportunity for professionals to connect, learn, and explore the future of laboratory science (2).
