Several standard buffers can be used in capillary electrophoresis, and each buffer type is appropriate for different types of solutes. By adopting these standard buffers, analysts can gain a great deal of operating efficiency and significantly reduce method development and validation costs. This installment of "CE Currents" describes the most frequently used buffers, which are similar to those used in other analytical methods worldwide.
