At ASMS 2023, LCGC spoke with Ron Heeren of Maastricht University. This segment previews one of several ASMS interviews that were conducted at the conference.
Heeren spoke with us at ASMS 2023 in Houston, Texas, where he briefed us on his current research endeavors that involve using multiplexed matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization–immunohistochemistry (MALDI-IHC) with image-guided proteomics to further investigate diseases. The idea is that MALDI-IHC with image-guided proteomics can provide information from the same tissue section without the need for customized and complex instrumentation.
Heeren is a Distinguished Professor and and Limburg co-chair of the Maastricht Multimodal Molecular Imaging Institute in the Division of Imaging Mass Spectrometry at Maastricht University.

February 28th 2025Each year, LCGC International presents two awards at Pittcon to the winner of the Lifetime Achievement in Chromatography Award and the Emerging Leader in Chromatography Award. This year, Christopher Pohl is the recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award and Katelynn Perrault Uptmor is the recipient of the Emerging Leader award. The award presentation, which will honor Pohl and Perrault Uptmor, will take place on Tuesday March 4th from 8:30–11:40 am.
