Each year, LCGC International honors two outstanding professionals in separation science.

The Emerging Leader Award celebrates a rising star who is already making a significant impact early in their career. While the Lifetime Achievement Award recognizes a seasoned expert whose years of dedication and contributions have shaped the field.

Since 2008, these awards have celebrated the outstanding achievements of professionals in separation science. This year, we’ve streamlined the nomination process, making it easier than ever to recognize a deserving colleague for one or both honors.

Award winners join the editors of LCGC International at Pittcon for a special symposium showcasing their work, as well as the contributions of those who have influenced their careers.

Here’s an overview of the updates to the selection and application process for our 2026 awards.

• To broaden our applicant pool, we’ve removed the previous 10-year post-Ph.D. restriction to our Emerging Leader award, allowing us to recognize outstanding candidates who may fall outside that range.
• Unless otherwise specified, candidates who do not receive an award will remain in the applicant pool for future years. Nominators and nominees may also choose to submit updates to their applications.
• Applications are accepted year-round and will be considered for the next available application cycle after submission.
