Cal State and Leco Launch Chemical Analysis Laboratory
California State University, Los Angeles (Cal State LA) (Los Angeles, USA) and Leco Corporation (St. Joseph, Michigan, USA) have unveiled the collaborative Leco Complex Chemical Compositional Analysis Lab at Cal State LA’s Rosser Hall. The laboratory offers a collaborative space for students, faculty, and industry partners to explore complex chemical samples. Spearheaded by Petr Vozka from the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry, the lab aims to educate and train both undergraduate and graduate students. “Our mission is to mold adept students ready to lead in the industry and excel in top-tier graduate programmes. Every milestone, every achievement, is a testament to our collective efforts,” he said. René Vellanoweth, dean of the College of Natural and Social Sciences at Cal State LA, commented: “Our country was built on the private-public relationship, and that’s exactly what Petr Vozka has done here. He’s brought the private sector to campus. Our local community will benefit from this relationship.” Farai Rukunda, director of separation science at Leco Corporation, added, “Cal State LA, Leco Corporation is very proud of the work you do. You’re creating future scientists who are helping us solve tomorrow’s problems today.”
