Lab Innovations 2023 will be held 1–2 November 2023 in Birmingham, United Kingdom. Here’s a sneak preview of what attendees can look forwards to.

Lab Innovations is the United Kingdom’s main trade exhibition for scientific suppliers and manufacturers. Over the course of the two-day trade show, the latest technologies and products designed for the laboratory will be on display. Scientific suppliers and manufacturers provide the entire laboratory community a chance to gather under one roof.

Many of the products that will be on display are applicable to a wide variety of industries. Some of the most common sectors include life sciences, pharmaceuticals, academia, healthcare, chemical, food and drink, cleanroom, and water and wastewater treatment.

Attendees at Lab Innovations can look forward to several events. Along with ample opportunities for networking, the Lab Awards on November 1st recognizes those in the industry who had significant achievements and success from the previous year. Taking place at The Vox, in Birmingham, United Kingdom, the Lab Awards encapsulates the trade show by giving credit to those who significantly contributed to the advancement of laboratory technologies.

Chromatography and Art Collide at Shimadzu Exhibit in Milan

A 10-day exhibit at Milan Design Week in Italy is drawing to a close, but Shimadzu hopes that visitors have recognized the link between science and technology, and art and design.

Elefteria (Elia) Psillakis is a Professor in Water Chemistry at the School of Chemical and Environmental Engineering, Technical University of Crete, Greece. She is Head of the Sample Preparation Network of the EuChemS-Division of Analytical Chemistry and the Founder and Director of ExtraTECH Analytical Solutions, a spin-off company of the Technical University of Crete. From 2014–2016, she was the Vice Rector of Academic Affairs and Research at the Technical University of Crete.

Jonathan Edelman began his career as an analytical chemist in the pharmaceutical industry. Inspired by his long-standing love of science and natural ease in its commercial aspect, he works towards strategic business solutions in the chromatography field. Currently in business development at Restek, he volunteers his time to various nonprofit organizations within the chromatography community. Edelman serves as Treasurer of the ACS SCSC; Chair of the organizing committee for the ISCC/GC×GC 2021 conference; President emeritus of the Chromatography Forum of Delaware Valley and Washington Chromatography Forum; and Founder and President of the Separation Community Mixer.
