The ACS Women Chemists Committee (WCC) has awarded a 2014 WCC Rising Star Award to Katherine Ayers, Director of Research for Proton OnSite (Connecticut, USA). The award recognizes exceptional early to mid-career women chemists from across all areas of chemistry on a national level.

The ACS Women Chemists Committee (WCC) has awarded a 2014 WCC Rising Star Award to Katherine Ayers, Director of Research for Proton OnSite (Connecticut, USA). The award recognizes exceptional early to mid-career women chemists from across all areas of chemistry on a national level.

In her role as research director, Ayers is responsible for setting and executing research and development strategy in membrane-based electrochemical devices. In 2010, 2012, and 2013 she was named a finalist for the Connecticut Women in Innovation Award and in 2012 was awarded the R&D Award from the Hydrogen Production Team at the Department of Energy for Outstanding Contributions to Hydrogen Production by PEM Electrolysis. Ayers is the author of several peer-reviewed journal publications and two U.S. patents.
