Sylvain Dulaurent is an engineer in analytical chemistry and obtained a Ph.D. in 2010. He is currently the analytical scientist responsible for the Clinical and Forensic Toxicology Unit of the Limoges University Hospital (France). He has developed and published numerous analytical solutions for the determination of pesticides residues, drugs, and illicit drugs. He is also a legal expert in forensic toxicology with daily activity dedicated to DUID.
The main objectives of this study were to develop a method for the measurement of cocaine derivatives in oral fluid by coupling a probe electrospray ionization (PESI) source with quadrupole time-of-flight (QTOF). The three cocaine derivatives considered were: benzoylecgonine (BZE), cocaine, and ecgonine-methylester (EME).
In this study, a probe electrospray ionization coupled to mass spectrometry (PESI-MS) method for ultra-rapid determination of MtF in plasma by isotope dilution was developed.
