PerkinElmer has announced that it is developing interface software for Agilent’s EZChrom Elite chromatography data system (CDS) to allow it to control the company’s own Clarus range of gas chromatographs. Once installed, the interface software will enable existing CDS users to control the GCs, including the 600, 500 and 400 models, on their existing networked installations. Customers in petrochemical and pharmaceutical markets, as well as a variety of other markets that currently use the CDS, will be able to benefit from the speed and performance provided by the GC platform, claims the company. This development is reported to be in response to customer requests to be able to control the company’s GC systems in an EZChrom Elite environment. The software is expected to be available for distribution on a worldwide basis by July 2009.
