The historic city of Dresden, Germany will host HPLC 2009 — 34th International Symposium on High-Performance Liquid Phase Separations and Related Techniques . This symposium will be held in Dresden's International Congress Centre from 28 June–2 July 2009 .
During these five days researchers and practioners of liquid-phase separations from all over the world will exchange and discuss the latest developments in the field. HPLC 2009 is an international forum for the discussion and presentation of high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), electrophoresis, electrochromatography, field-flow fractionation (FFF), supercritical fluid chromatography (SFC) and their hyphenation to other separation techniques or spectroscopic methods, including mass spectrometry (MS), nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy. In addition, microfluidics, chip technologies, as well as practical and economic issues of separation science will be addressed.
The scientific programme will focus on state-of-the-art technology and the methodology of separation science and will include plenary and keynote lectures. Discussions and exchange during poster sessions will constitute an essential and vital component of the Symposium. Prizes will be awarded to the best poster presentations.
Short courses and tutorial lectures will constitute an integral part of the educational programme, introducing newcomers to a specific topic into the basics and state-of-the-art modern analytical and separation technologies. For more experienced separation scientists, the short courses are intended to refresh their knowledge and inform them about the newest developments in the field in terms of technology, instrumentation and applications. Moreover, the short courses give the unique opportunity to meet and discuss separation problems with the real experts. The Scientific and Organizing Committees of HPLC 2009 have taken all efforts to invite instructors both from academia and industry to present hot topics and state of the art methodods of separation science. 2009 topics include: Principles and Applications of Liquid Chromatography Mass Spectrometry (LC–MS); Recent Developments in Pharmaceutical Analysis; HPLC Method Development and Optimization; Current Trends in Liquid Chromatography: Understanding the Theory behind the Practice; Supercritical Fluid Chromatography and Green Chemistry in the Pharmaceutical Industry; Setting-up and Optimization of Multidimensional Separations; Sample Preparation for Bioanalytical LC–MS and Principles and Applications of Ion Chromatography.
Since the first symposium, held in 1973 in Interlaken/Switzerland, this event has become a renowned scientific meeting for bringing together the international liquid chromatographic community. The conference venue regularly changes between the US, Europe and Asia.
