Phenomenex and Shimadzu Scientific Instruments today announced a marketing collaboration for LC and GC systems. Through this collaboration, Shimadzu systems and Phenomenex columns will be offered together in the United States.
“We are pleased to combine the instrument and chromatographic media technologies of the two companies to better serve our customers,” said Kiyoshi Kawamoto, vice president, marketing, of Shimadzu Scientific Instruments, the American subsidiary of the Japanese‑headquartered Shimadzu Corporation.
According to the companies, purchasers of Shimadzu analytical scale HPLC, UHPLC, LC–MS, GC or GC–MS systems will be given a Phenomenex welcome package that includes a technical consultation to evaluate the application and determine which complimentary column to select. LC system users will also receive a cartridge that Phenomenex claims will protect and extend the life of the column, along with a column selection tool, technical notes and an application-specific troubleshooting guide. GC system buyers will receive a column selection guide along with technical notes on GC method development and accessories.
“This total solutions programme brings two leading companies together to serve the customer with top-of-the-line products that work together,” explained Doug McCrory, vice president of Phenomenex.
